Friends University offers a unique experience to transfer students who are seeking a place to learn and study. At this stage in their college career, choosing a major has become the focus of their studies, but at Friends University, they can also continue their involvement in student organizations, internship programs, as well as athletics and fine arts, if their schedule allows.
Friends University is proud to announce new student housing that is appealing to transfer students. We are one of three schools to offer a bachelor in Zoo Science, and one of eight (8) in the region to offer a bachelors in Ballet. With a Quaker heritage, it is important that students at Friends University learn the value of giving back. Therefore, several of our degrees have a community service component to provide those opportunities. It’s different at Friends University.

Note: Transfer Student Credit:
Credit is transferred with the grade earned in the course at the institution where the course was taken. All grades are calculated for a transfer GPA, including courses that might have been deleted from consideration by an “academic fresh start” at the transferring institution. Students should be aware that credits may be transcripted but not counted toward major or graduation requirements. “D” grades in major courses and certain other courses are not accepted toward graduation. No specific admissions requirements are required for particular programs. Most of the requirements come within each major, not at admission. There are many programs with pre-requisites for the major, but the admission requirements are listed above. |

“I have had good experiences and some bad experiences as I transferred from college to college. I remember when I transferred to college in Denver, it was easy but still more work than I thought transferring should or would take. I kept having to jump through different hoops and was always on hold with one dept. and then transferred to another. After a semester in Denver I decided to transfer back home for personal reasons and continue my collegiate soccer career and education at Friends University.”
“The transfer process at Friends was much different than transferring out to Denver, the hardest part for me was having my previous colleges send my transcripts to Friends, nothing that Friends could control. I remember coming for my visit and meeting with my admissions counselor at the time, her name was Cara, and she was very personable and made my visit comfortable and easy. I remember on my tour of the campus thinking how gorgeous the school grounds were. It makes it hard not to want to go to Friends because Friends University takes such pride in the keeping their campus clean and well maintained it makes one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. I should know, I have been on many college campuses. The feel you get when you set foot on the campus grounds at Friends is a very “home-like” feeling. The kind of feeling that just makes it feel like a right fit.”
“Another I really liked about Friends U. was the class sizes. All my classes were fairly small, anywhere from 15 – 25 students and there was always one-on-one time available to meet with your professors and they knew you by name and not by number. The previous school I was at, granted it was a much larger school of 45,000 students on campus, but I didn’t get the one-on-one time experience with my professors that I needed. It just wasn’t the right fit for me, but Friends U was. I made so many life-long friends over the years I was at Friends and would recommend anyone looking at going to college or transferring to look at Friends because you will not be disappointed!”
