Wesleyan Scholar/Activity Scholarships
$5,000 per year
$3,000 for non–residence Hall students
Transfer/current students with cumulative GPA of 2.75–2.999 on 15 or more accepted credit hours.
Continuing students also eligible based upon cumulative GPA of 2.75–2.999.
Renewal: cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Residence Hall Discounts
$2,400 per year
Transfer students with 2.5 transfer GPA. Complete FAFSA by July 1. Renewal: cumulative GPA of 2.5 and reapply by March 15.
OUT–OF–STATE: Transfer students with 3.0 transfer GPA. Complete FAFSA by July 1. Renewal: cumulative GPA of 2.5 and reapply by March 15.

Kansas Wesleyan University Awards
$100 – $8,000 per year
Mostly need–based, however, non–need–based awards of $1,000–$4,000 available.

Admissions requirements for transfer students

Transfer applicants include:
Full or part-time degree-seeking students who have taken 15 or more transferable college credit hours since high school graduation or completion of the GED.
Section III Admissions 2009-2010
Requirements for Regular Admission:

  • A completed application for admission along with the non-refundable $20 application fee.
  • Applicants must have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for 15 transferable credit hours or more.
  • Applicants must submit an official transcript from each college attended demonstrating they have left the institution “in good standing.”
  • Applicants must be a high school graduate or have a GED.
    Application to the BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program
    Made in the sophomore year or after the student has completed the majority of the liberal studies and support courses related to nursing.
  • Applicants must have a 2.6 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. Applicants who have a GPA between 2.0 and 2.59 may e considered for admission if they have a GPA of 2.6 on pre-requisite support courses for the nursing program.
  • Applicants must have completed NURS250, Introduction to Professional Nursing and required support courses for nursing with a grade of “C” or higher.

Articulation Agreements
Transfer Course Guides
  These guides are designed to assist students in determining transfer course equivalencies. Courses are designated as equivalent to a Kansas Wesleyan University course, general elective credit, technical/vocational/alternative credit (30 hour limit), or non‐transferable. A maximum of 63 credit hours will be accepted from two year colleges.

  Any course identified as remedial is not transferable. Any course identified as a workshop, seminar, practicum, field experience, work experience, continuing education, etc. will be carefully evaluated by the Enrollment and Financial Services office. While transfer of credit generally occurs, some limits are applied in the cases of repeat courses. Credit for varsity sports is limited to one repeat. Transfer of all activitybased Health, Physical Education, and Recreation courses are limited to four credit hours.

Housing Requirements
Number of required credit hours in residence a transfer student must take for a Bachelor’s degree:

  All students except those who are married, living with an immediate relative, or are at least 21 years of age are required to live in the residence halls and participate in the University meal plan. In the event of exceptional circumstances, a petition may be filed with the Dean of Student Life to request off-campus living. Petitions are rarely granted to freshman or sophomores.
