McPherson college
transfer guide
founded 1887

We have a very small student to faculty ratio of roughly 14:1. We pride ourselves on being small and student-focused in order to maintain personal relationships with our students. Internships are a main priority to provide students with the real-world experience to enhance their learning and prepare them for their careers. The career services director can arrange a single student in multiple internships at a time, if a student schedule allows. We are the only college in the nation which offers a B.S. in Automotive Restoration. This has garnered amazing internship opportunities as well as support from leading companies such as Mercedes Benz, and collectors such as Jay Leno.

Testimonials
A 2008 Auto Restoration transfer student has landed an internship with the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Germany. He also was awarded the top scholarship that Mercedes gives for the coming school year which is $20,000.

A 2009 transfer and recent grad moved to McPherson to raise her three children and substitute teach. She fell in love with teaching and decided to pursue a degree in Secondary Education but wasn’t sold on raising a family and going to school full-time. “Other colleges discouraged me and actually told me I couldn’t do it, but when I came to MAC they instilled courage in me,” she said. “Sure, I’m constricted with time, but people here are flexible with schedules and are really encouraging. My kids are so proud and excited for me. We both have our papers hanging on the refrigerator.”
