Imagine a college community in which everyone on campus is valued and affirmed for their abilities and no one is marginalized. The core values of the college—Christ-centeredness, Community, Learning, Involvement and Service—are imbedded in student life as well as curriculum. StrengthsQuests training is available through several programs, and is designed to empower students to appreciate themselves and others based on their God-given strengths instead of world-labeled weaknesses.
Tabor has accredited programs in Athletic Training, Music, Elementary and Secondary and Special Education and nursing. The reputations of Tabor graduates in the hard sciences have gained them opportunities in pre-med, computer science, and research in biology, physics and chemistry. Tabor’s RN-BSN program is infused with practical opportunities to combine theory and practice, and offers courses during evenings and with online components that allow for working practioners to participate.

Transfer students to Tabor College Hillsboro will be expected to complete the Core Curriculum in its entirety with the following exceptions:
1. Transfers with one previous year of college (minimum 24 transferable credits) will be exempt from the Bible content elective requirement.
2. Transfers with two previous years of college (minimum 56 transferable credits) will be exempt from both the Bible content
requirement and the elective in Bible/Religion/Philosophy.
3. Transfers who have earned an A.A., A.S., or A.G.S. degree at the time of entrance to Tabor College and who have completed at least 36 hours of liberal arts credit with a minimum of two courses from the Natural and Mathematical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities will be exempt from a portion of the Core Curriculum requirements.
a. The courses/competencies required of all students are the Tabor College distinctives (RS 110-G* and RS 400-G);
the mathematics competency; a laboratory science course; a deductive reasoning course; two college English Composition courses (excluding Basic Writing courses); public speaking; and the intercultural awareness experience.
b. The distinctive courses must be taken in residence; other courses/competencies may be either taken in residence, transferred, or satisfied by testing.
c. If a student is deficient in any specific area, he/she will only be required to make up that deficiency and not be required to meet all of our requirements.
Section VII Articulation 2009-2010
d. The requirement of 36 hours of liberal arts credit can include courses in English Composition and Speech. However, the requirement of two courses distributed between three liberal arts divisions would require two courses in Humanities in addition to the Composition and Speech courses. History courses can be used to meet either Humanities or Social Science requirements.
e. Teacher Licensure requirements may override any waivers that an associate’s degree might allow the student.
*A resident Bible content course may be taken instead of RS 110-G if an approved transfer course meets the prerequisite.

| “The transfer to Tabor was a leap of faith that I tiptoed into. I did not want to start over at another school and, in some ways, become a freshman again. But that is certainly not what happened. The transfer process could have been a chaotic whirlwind, but with the help of admissions counselors and advisors, it was seamless. I have met some of my closest friends here and couldn’t ask for better professors. I love Tabor and I truly feel like it was where I was meant to be all along.” — Alyssa C. |
